Drivers Improvement Program “DIP” - The Resource Training Centers Driver Improvement Program (DIP) is a 6-hour course, held twice a week, three hours each class.
Victims Impact Panel “VIP” - The online Victim Impact Panel Program consists of multiple stories shown through videos. All of the participants are real people telling their real stories. One Day, 2 Hours, $100.
Impaired Drivers Program “IDP” Enrollment is through DMV. This consists of seven (7) weekly classroom sessions. Each session takes two (2) to three (3) hours for sixteen (16) hours in total. The maximum IDP enrollment fee is $233.
Ignition Interlock Device “IID” - If you are convicted of driving while intoxicated or aggravated driving while intoxicated as a felony or misdemeanor, you are required to install an Ignition Interlock Device (IID) in any vehicle that you own or use. An IID is a mobile breathalyzer that tests for alcohol in your breath before allowing you to start your vehicle. The state of New York allows exceptions to license suspensions in cases where IIDs are installed. The cost could be approximately $100 per month plus installation.
Attitudes and Defensive Driving “ADD” – This is a six-week interactive program to identify driving behaviors that lead you to receive traffic tickets or have collisions.
Mandatory License Suspension- When you are either arrested for DWI your license is revoked if you refuse to submit to the breathier and suspended if you blow above the legal limit .08%. Your license is also automatically suspended when you are convicted of a DWI related offense. Whether your license is revoked or suspended it means that your privilege to drive is taken away for a certain amount of time.
Mandatory Fines range from $300 for the violation of DUI, Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving While Impaired by a Drug (DWAI-Drug)) $500 - $1000, Second DWI or DWAI-Drug violation in 10 years (E felony) $1,000 - $5,000, Third DWI or DWAI-Drug violation in 10 years (D felony) $2,000 - $10,000.
